Rebel Hack was founded on the principle of challenge. Doing things out of the ordinary and pushing the status quo to help great ideas get above the noise. It’s what we live for. As a business we are always experimenting with new ideas, new ways of looking at the same problem and challenging ourselves and each other to go one step further. I suppose it’s in our blood. We are unorthodox to say the least.
So in the spirit of our values I have decided to take on a boxing match on the 15th July down at the O2 arena, called Meantime Boxing! In order that I stick true to my principles of helping great ideas as much as possible I will be doing this for charity, and asking all of my startup friends, colleagues, partners and team to get involved and donate a little bit of cash to the cause. Yes… that means you….! I donate a fixed percentage of my income to charity every month as i think it’s important for us all to give what we can, and so in this instance the charities that i will be raising for are Save the Children and Care4Calais.
Save the Children is an international non-governmental organization that promotes children’s rights, provides relief and helps support children in developing countries.
Care4Calais is a volunteer charity delivering aid to refugee camps throughout France, and is dedicated to helping those fleeing the war torn country of Syria.
I am going to be training for the next 10 weeks, 6 days a week, 2 hours a day to get in shape for this! It’s going to be tough getting to the fight, let alone competing in the actual bout! However, please join in and donate what you can to help these 2 amazing organisations.
I am also going to be writing about my experience of managing the pressure of training and running a technology startup at the same time on a well known London tech startup community… 3 Beards. Watch that space!
Please share this across social media too, it would help spread the word.
